The Queens Diamond Jubilee is taking place this year from Saturday 2nd – Tuesday 4th June, celebrating 60 years as Monarch in 2012.
Saturday 2nd June – The Queen will be attending Epsom Derby.
Sunday 3rd June – The Big Lunch/ Street Party, where neighbours bring food and gather the street together to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.
Monday 4th June – BBC concert at Buckingham Palace, which will be televised. While the program is still being put together for the concert it is thought that British and Commonwealth musicians will be playing.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee beacons will also be lit on Monday 4th, with 2,012 beacons being lit in communities throughout the United Kingdom.
Tuesday 5th June – Is a day of celebrations that will be held in London.
This will include a service at St. Pauls Cathedral followed by two receptions, a lunch at Westminster, a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace as well as a Balcony appearance and Flypast.
On the 5th The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and many Members of the Royal Family will be attending the lunch at St. Pauls Cathedral
