4th July History

4th July firework displays

Fourth of July is the common phrase for American Independence Day on the said date. The 4th of July is a federal (public) holiday which commemorates the United States Declaration of Independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain making them no longer part of the British Empire. This legal separation was approved by the Continental Congress on 4th July 1776, after a vote two days earlier, following over a year since the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War.
