Fourth of July also known as Independence Day, is Americas national holiday, celebrating their independence from Great Britain.
Independence Day has been national celebrated since 4th July 1776, when the Declaration of Independence was passed.
Common celebrations that occur on the Fourth of July have been; carnivals, parades, fairs, BBQ’s, fireworks, concerts and political speeches.
4th July fireworks is one of the biggest and most widely celebrated traditions of the day, with many towns and cities across the States hosting a public display. New York City is known to hold one of the biggest and best displays for the days celebrations.
This year will mark Macy’s 36 Annual fireworks show in New York to celebrate the 4th July. This year a Macy’s spokesperson has said the firework display will last approximately 26 minutes, and will include more than 40,000 pyrotechnic shells.
The music that the firework display will be synchronised to has been chosen by the public via Facebook.
