Black Cat staff raise money for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice

Black Cat staff and Forget Me Not cheque

Last year we teamed up with Huddersfield based Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and helped them raise funds by selling a charity firework in our Factory Warehouse during the run up to Bonfire Night. Staff members also raised funds by participating in the 10K Charity Race Event in Leeds. Altogether, we managed to raise a total of £5948! Well done to the team!

Pattaya International Fireworks Festival 2014 Review

Pattaya Fireworks

The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival 2014 was staged across two days, Friday 28th and Saturday 29th November. Teams from Germany, Italy and Spain joined our Official Firework Display Team representing the UK. Friday night’s spectacular show saw each team produce 10 minutes of stunning firework designs. There was a gap between each team’s entry and the crowd that stretched all along Beach Road were clearly impressed based on the round of applause each team received after their displays. Our Official Firework Display Team used their James Bond theme, which had already impressed in three other countries in recent years. The soundtrack on Friday night included Diamonds are Forever and Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey and Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney. The colourful bursts of the shells and the fantastically timed one-shots choreographed with the music soundtrack brought rapturous applause from the audience. Read the rest of this entry »

Black Cat Fireworks’ community engagement ‘skyrockets’ in UK

Competition Winner

In the lead up to Bonfire Night on November 5th, Black Cat Fireworks teamed up with Huddersfield Town Football Club to launch an exciting competition. Children from the club’s 53 partner primary schools were given the chance to win an exciting prize by designing a poster that illustrated firework safety on Bonfire Night.

The local children’s love of Standard Fireworks and Huddersfield Town ensured the poster design competition went off with a bang, sparking the creativity of a large number of primary school students. Those children who took part in the competition gained an understanding of the firework code, which emphasizes the importance of safety. They also learnt that families can have a lot of fun with fireworks when used safely. Read the rest of this entry »

Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2014 Review

Fireworks above barges

Our official Firework Display Team landed back in the UK last week after wowing the Korean public once again, this time at the Seoul International Fireworks Festival. The event is the largest Fireworks event in the calendar for South Korea and one which involves world class teams from around the globe. This year our team were joined by Pyro Emotions of Italy and Sunny Fireworks of China. Hanwha Corporation who run the festival capped off the night with a marvellous finale. The biggest waterfall I have ever seen was just one of the highlights of their 30 minute show. Spanning half way across the Wonhyo Bridge, the waterfall was truly stunning and the video below shows the length of it.

Summer BBQ Fireworks

Summer BBQ Fireworks

Recent reports have said that Britain is set to sizzle in a two-week heat wave with temperatures hotter than parts of the Mediterranean! We thought it would be a great idea to dust off the BBQ set and invite your friends and family around for some fun in the sun!

If you find yourselves struggling to organise your BBQ, we’ve written up a step by step guide to help:

1.) Who to invite?

Will it be just close friends, family or both? Why not create an event on Facebook and invite your friends or there is always the traditional method of using your phone!

2.) Where will the BBQ be held?

Will there be enough room for all your guests? Find a suitable environment to host your BBQ and give yourselves plenty of room as you may just be interested in step 5!

3.) When will you host your BBQ?

Which day will you choose to host your BBQ? We recommend weekends as more people should be able to attend and the more the merrier!

4.) What shall we eat/drink?

Are there any special dietary requirements for your guests? Generally think meat for the grill but always have veggie options as well. What will you drink? Summer ciders, Pimms, Lager, Cocktails and fresh juices are a good place to start!

5.) How to be unique?

How will you make your BBQ the one for all your friends/family to remember? Here is where we come in to further assist. Fireworks are a simple yet effective way of making your party stand out from the rest, leaving your guests in awe. We have plenty of options available to purchase from our online store. We have single ignitions, selection boxes and display kits for the firework enthusiasts!

Follow the link below to our online store to view our Fireworks:

If you decide to host a BBQ and use fireworks remember to always follow the Firework Code. It is as important now as it is during Bonfire Night. We also have more safety information on our website.
